We took a six day trip from Minneapolis to Arizona and are back!! Even though my teux deux list is staring me down right now, I definitely wanted to share some highlights with you all. The best part about vacation for me, hands down, was taking off work (minus a few emails). As a solo freelancer, I think it’s important to rejuvenate, relax, and take a break from the daily routine. This allowed my inspiration to refuel and by the time I got home last night, I was motivated to jump back into everything full speed. But enough work-talk, more vacay-talk!

We started our trip with an overnight 15 hour drive from Minneapolis to Estes Park, Colorado. As you can see in the first two photographs, it’s a beautiful mountain town situated near the Rocky Mountains. We took an hour drive 15,000 feet up and were in line with the clouds – which was beautiful ( and cold ).

Day two took us 7 hours further to Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was surprised to see how beautiful northern New Mexico is, especially coming in from Colorado! It’s actually fairly green, which I was surprised and happy to see. Unfortunately, we weren’t here long and only stopped at a few places to eat and sleep.

And finally, day three took us another 6 hours to Mesa, Arizona ( a suburb of Phoenix ) … our final stop! Michael’s parents have a second home down there, so we spent loads of time utilizing the community pool, eating out every single night, and going to bed at 9pm like old folks. But seriously, though, we really indulged and were complete foodies the entire time. It’s detox week for us! From fresh peaches and pears to full on mexican meals, we had it all. I’m stuffed.

For me, it’s always great to see different places & luckily, the road allows for that. My eyes were opened and the long hours on the road allowed for me to think about where I’m going, what I’m doing in my life, and all that jazz. Even though all of this is great, I couldn’t be happier to be home. I truly love Minneapolis!

Wow, these photos are awesome! VSCO cam app? I drove through Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and a tiny corner of Arizona when I moved to California (and then back to Minnesota a while later) a couple of years ago. That southwestern scenery is so great!
