LISTENING TO Justin Timberlake. You guys, did you see the countdown video JT released last week?? Probably. Sorry I’m not sorry that I’m a fan of his. That’s just the way it is.

THINKING ABOUT how I’m living my twenties. A friend of mine shared this article with me, and honestly, a lot of it is true. I’m not sure why I spend so much time in front of screens, but I know I need to get better about it. I need to be with the people I love MORE, because that’s what matters to me.

LOVING how busy this week has been / will be! I’ll admit, I was stressed out when I looked at my to-do list for this week. It’s true, even good things can make me feel a little panic-y. BUT, I have something planned with friends / family almost every night, which rarely happens. I’m definitely going to enjoy it while it lasts! Plus, there’s bound to be some good food…

LOOKING FORWARD TO my warby parker home try-on kit to arrive! About a month ago, I noticed that I couldn’t read the movie titles / times when buying tickets and discovered my far away world was actually quite blurry. I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed before! Went to the eye doc and he confirmed my need for glasses … I kind of can’t wait actually.

Thanks for sharing that 20’s article – it definitely gives a different perspective! Sometimes it’s so easy to stay cooped up and feel like you’re not doing as much as others, it’s so important to value yourself. And also, JT… LOVE!! I’m not afraid to admit it either :)

No problem! It was seriously eye opening for me to read through. I definitely don’t get out as much as I should, which has GOT to change!!

  2. No one should be ashamed of their love for JT. Don’t hide it!

My workout Pandora station has turned to a JT station. And I’m not sad about it!

Early 20s for me were fun (hello, college!). Its the late 20s that stress me out. I kind of wish people would stop putting expectations on age. Everyone, no matter age, should live the life they want and try to always be a better (fulfilled?) version of themselves. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while too (considering I turn 28 this month….).

I hope Justin’s new album ends up being as exciting as his announcement about the new album has been. And a few years ago when I FINALLY went to the eye doctor and found out I needed glasses, I was so ridiculously thrilled, haha! I’m a girl who loves to accessorize, what can I say?

Justin Timberlake <3 I can't wait to hear/see more from him!
I'm not 20 yet (8 months to go), but I feel like so many parts from that article apply to me too, especially this one: 'Every day you vow to change some aspect of your life and every day you fail. ' Sighhh.

I love that you’ve started doing these posts.

Justin’s announcement (and beyonce’s about destiny’s child) definitely made my week.

  7. Jennifer says:

So here is the thing. I am not sure that the story does not change … insert next decade (s) … but your ability to recognize and cope grows … and you become more aware of who you are… and with any luck you will be singing the same tunes in a quest for self discovery when you a (God willing) when you are 80. Only time will tell I guess…

Man, that post about being in your 20’s definitely hits home. Especially because I’m single and live alone, some days I’m like “uh, I should probably get out of the house and interact with human beings face to face” before I lose my mind. One of my goals for this year is to try to go to a cafe a few days a week to work, and find a class at my gym that I like. Small things but hopefully will help get me out from behind the screen, which I know you’re totally familiar with!

  9. Kayd says:

Also try Fetch and Classic Specs for glasses. They both offer home try on. I just bought two pairs – one from Warby and the other from Fetch.

Thanks for sharing that article! Just yesterday I was thinking about how much time I spend behind a computer on a daily basis (between designing at work & designing at home on personal projects) and once I added up all the numbers it was sort of frightening! I think as designers we need to remind ourselves to step back from our projects and get out into the world with real people, I mean that’s who we are designing for after all!

PS. You’re gonna look stellar in some new specs!

I used to wear glasses when I was a little kid but haven’t for years now. I finally had my eye exam recently and was quite surprised by the comparison of how blurry I see things at a distance and how sharp they were with lenses. It probably was the same for you. So, I’m also getting glasses and I am quite excited about it. :)

  12. Xixia says:

Oh goodness, I don’t know if I can say just how much I like this new feature. I love learning more about you! (:
Hahah, I was supes excited when JT’s single dropped. Been listening to it way too much. And Warby Parker glasses are so wonderful. I never did the at home try on – I was a bit too impatient and needed new glasses ASAP. It worked out in the end, though, as I love the first pair I got.
