READING the new Kinfolk Digital, which has free + paid access to new articles and all sorts of goodies. Plus, the website design is gorgeous and really showcases their beautiful photography, which I’ve always been a fan of.

THINKING ABOUT talks with good friends online. It’s funny how many relationships you’re able to create when your job is to be so present online. It’s new to our generation, that’s for sure, but I’m happy to embrace it. Thank goodness for Skype!

LOVING cake pops. I do this thing where I have favorite snack obsessions that I go through every couple months. It’s bad, because normally these cravings aren’t healthy. In fact, I drove 5 miles out of my way yesterday to buy one $2.40 cake pop. The ones in the above photo look perfect for summer — orange creamsicle flavored, mmm.

LOOKING FORWARD TO going tubing down the river this weekend with Micahel + my family! Have you guys ever done that?? It’s been a few years for me, but we thought of it during brunch last weekend and immediately began making plans. The weather is supposed to be hot, so it’s the perfect time to cool down in a river and just relax for three hours.

  1. Living around the Big Apple, it ends up being not-so-convenient having a car -all the expenses for something you can hardly use in this chaotic streets…
But things like tubing down a river sure makes me want to have a car (so I could go upstate or around New Jersey).

Never heard of a cake pop till now…like a bite sized mini cake?if so..then cake pop sounds like a better name.

Yup, like a bit sized mini cake! BUT, it’s a lot more moist than a cake, because you’re supposed to mix the frosting in with the cake mix, so you kind of get an all in one bite. SO GOOD, please try stat.

Tubing = great way to spend a hot day. If you haven’t been in awhile, I recommend preparing yourself for the other folks enjoying the river. Some spots can get super crowded and super rowdy. I’m talking TONS of booze and beads – like, Mardi Gras beads given for the same reasons that Bourbon Street gives beads. Generally, though, the earlier in the day, the quieter it will be. Have fun!

i haven’t been tubing in years but i think its the perfect summer activity! i hope you enjoy yourself and i hope you dont get sunburnt!

Those cake balls look yummy. I used to get this creamy orange drink in the mall growing up but I can not remember the name for anything. Do you know? I have never really got into the Kinfolk thing I try hard not to follow all those blog trends they do have lovely pictures though when its not a cup of coffee by a magazine lol. OMG tubing as one of my favorite things growing up. We live on the lake back home in TN and looked forward to it every Summer. I hope you all have fun :)

Hmmm, is the orange creamy drink Dairy Queen’s “Orange Julius?” I know they don’t have those at all of their locations, but it’s the closest thing I could think of as to what you were describing. Sounds so good right now. :)

    • Noor says:

They were not from DQ this place had their own stand and that was what they sold. I am not sure if it was just a Southern mall thing or what but I do think that was the same name that you said. They stopped having them when I was a teenager I think but I used to love those drinks lol.

Glad we share a love for them! I want one SO SO SO BAD right noww. Well, always, actually.

  7. Looks like a good beginning to summer! I’ve been thinking about subscribing to Kinfolk, and I just clicked your link to their site – $60 for print/digital/ & event invites for the year isn’t bad at all!

Cake Pops looks so delicious! I’ve seen them all over Pinterest, yet never had one!

I was amazed to read that you’re supposed to mix the frosting in to the cake! That almost blew my mind!
