Over time, I’ve found certain products that I LOVE and use every single day. Part of discovering these things was through reading other blogs, many google searches, asking for advice, and a lot of trial + error. With that said, I thought I would begin a new feature on the blog sharing my “essentials” to hopefully help others out, too. From fashion to cooking & camping, I plan on covering a lot of things. First up, essentials for your hair.

01 After using loads of random products, I decided to invest in a nice shampoo / conditioner combo. I use Rusk’s Calm option. Because I use curling irons, hairspray, and often tease my hair on the daily – this one is great for stressed out hair that needs a little extra moisture & lovin.

02 Along the same lines of having stressed hair, I like to use Organix Moroccan Argon Renewal Treatment once a week. This stuff is ALSO great for when you’re trying to grow your hair out, so I always target my roots + ends.

03 Because I’m growing my hair out ( but also because it’s a good thing to do ), I protect myself from split ends by using Tresemme’s Split End Remedy. You can get this one at any drug store or Target, so it’s an easy addition. Just put it on after you shower and you’re good to go. Plus, it smells real good.

04 Sometimes you just need a bit of sparkle. Ban.do always has the cutest little hair accessories with just the right amount of pizazz. I’m not an over the top girl, so these bobbi pins are a fun touch of glitter & gold!

05 I’ve heard time and time again that you don’t NEED to shampoo / condition your hair everyday, and apparently, it’s not the best for your hair anyway, so they say. Unfortunately, that leaves me with oily hair around the second day, so dry shampoo is always my saving grace! After trying several products out, I always come back to Suave’s Dry Shampoo. It doesn’t leave my hair grey looking, works like a charm, smells nice, and is super affordable. As a plus, it definitely adds a bit of volume to your hair – if that’s what you’re looking for!

  1. love this, especially the dry shampoo. i’ve tried a couple now and not really been happy with any of them. i will have to give suave a try, if i can find it!

Yes, try suave! I know it seems like it wouldn’t be legit, but it does a great job. :) I’ve bought more expensive brands before that vanished in literally one day. Product failure!!

I’m a big Pureology fan. Definitely worth the investment. I’m *think* I’m growing my hair out too. Thanks for the tip on the split end serum.

I have been looking for a real good dry shampoo for over a year now! I tried Tresemme, but it smells awful and it leaves little flakes in your hair – awful! So, I’ll definitely be checking out Suave’s. Thanks for sharing!

    • bre says:

Yay! Definitely try it out. Always remember to spray the dry shampoo 8-12 inches away from your hair so it doesn’t look grey. I’ve also notice that if you spray some out before you use it just the FIRST time, you won’t see little flakes either!

  4. I also loooove suave dry shampoo and buy it by the truck load. I’m going to pick up the moroccan hair treatment asap!

Love this, thought I was at the wrong site at first! Ha! I LOVE the Argon Treatment as well – I also use their shampoo & conditioner as well as the oil for your hair. My hair is really coarse and just blah and I’ve HEARD (although I can’t remember where) that their line of products for some reason actually isn’t the best for your hair but all I know is it’s silky smooth after I use them, and that has NEVER happened to my hair before. Now if I can figure out a way to CONTROL my hair without loading it down with mousse and hairspray *sigh*

We have the same taste lol check this out from my blog:
I am going to try the rest thank you :)

  7. […] agree with breanna rose : our bobbis are totally essential to a great hair […]
