Athena Pelton Branding | By Breanna Rose

I’m happy to share with you all a recently launched project for a good friend of mine, Athena Pelton. I worked with her well over a year ago on her first brand for her budding photography business. Since then, I’ve watched along as she’s grown and come into her own. You can literally see her talent growing within her beautiful photography. So naturally – with growth – comes change. We met up for lunch a few months back and talked about the future of Athena Pelton Photography and what a new change would look like. Mentions of glitter and florals were put on the table right away … that lady likes a little flair! From there, this moodboard was created as we dove in head first.

The website was the first thing we tackled, which is now live for you to click around and browse! We were going to use her old website’s layout as a base and simply change the styling, but we ended up going down an entirely different road that I think was for the best. While the layout is fairly simple + modern, there are a few quirks thrown in here and there that are totally Athena. Circles, glitter quotes, overlapping elements … you know, the works, tastefully refined.

This project was definitely a challenge for me. A good one. With my wheelhouse being in simple + modern design, Athena wanted to try a lot of new things for her brand that allowed me to experiment more than I’m used to. And in the end, we utilized a rough / hand-drawn logo, placed on top of a solid color AND vintage florals. It’s totally Athena and I’m glad we could work together ( again ) on this one. Cheers!
