I’ve been attempting to visually capture my life a lot more in 2014, which I’ve been sharing more over on Instagram … so this morning, I thought it would be nice to tell a story behind each picture. The whole “life as of late” kind of thing. So here goes nothing!!
ONE I get on these breakfast kicks where I will literally eat the same thing, everyday, for months at a time. And right now, it’s all about layering cereal. I start every morning off with a big bowl of Special K flakes, vanilla granola, one sliced banana, and coconut milk. I’m obsessed and don’t see this one ending for a long time. Does anybody else layer cereal by the way?? I never thought of it until I met my fiancé … it’s all he does.
TWO This is probably my favorite corner of our house so far ( featuring two photos from our trip to France ), although it doesn’t have much to compare itself to. Since moving here in September, we’ve really only put our focus on two rooms ( upstairs living room + kitchen ), so I guess I’ll just enjoy what’s done until the rest of the house looks somewhat lived in.
THREE Michael is currently on a skiing trip in Colorado and gets back tonight ( !!! ), so this little guy, Walter, has been keeping me company in the meantime. Not that he doesn’t already do that on a daily basis during the work week, but we’ve definitely had extra cuddle sessions and lots of netflix binging together. I really don’t think he loves what I watch though.
FOUR Last Friday, Michael made chocolate cookies … and then left, leaving me with that much more to eat. I’ve found myself in the kitchen several times grabbing cookies and then getting mad at myself. It’s just so easy. I need to start reaching for the bananas and not the cookies. At least, that’s what I’ve been telling myself. Hashtag help.
FIVE It’s gotten to a point this winter where I don’t remember what warm feels like. Seriously though, I would give anything to feel just 50 degrees on my skin, outside. It’s been one of the coldest winters that I’ve ever experienced, so there have been many days where I’ve contemplated jumping in my car and driving straight down to texas on I-35.
SIX The other week, Michael and I had a special brunch date on a Friday afternoon. Because of the weather, we really haven’t left the house a lot, which gets old fast. It was fun to stop by Wise Acre again and eat some good old comfort food. If you live around these parts and haven’t been there yet, definitely give it a try! It’s such a great atmosphere, you’ll love it.
PS. I’m featured over on Tara Victoria’s blog for her Wildly Talented interview series. I shared a little bit more about my process as well as a few things you may not know about me. You can read the whole thing right here! Thank you Tara for having me.
