ONE First and foremost, thank you so much for all the kind words about the launch of Rowan Made on Monday. I am absolutely floored + thankful for each and every one of you. On Sunday afternoon, I shot a few prep photos and so this is just a behind the scenes shot taken right in our dining room.

TWO I’ve gotta say : this extra daylight we’ve been given is absolutely amazing. I love the soft light that pours into our kitchen at dinner time. No complaints here! It just means that we are that much closer to feeling warm weather again up here. We got a little tease of that last week when it reached 53 degrees, but back to winter this week it is. Bummer.

THREE I got strep throat last week and instantly went into recovery mode. Being that we leave for vacation on Friday, I knew I wanted to kick this thing in the butt as quick as possible. I drank a bunch of home remedies, took a hot bath, and am happy to report that I’m almost feeling 100% again. Phew. Strep has plagued me four other times during the past two years, which I took antibiotics for. This time around, though, I decided that perhaps my body was using that as a crutch and thought I’d try kicking it out myself. Seems to have done the trick! Hopefully for a long time.

FOUR Last weekend, Gap had a 40% off sale on everything ( SCORE ), so I snagged a few basics just in time for our trip down south! My closet, after all, is a bit sparse when it comes to spring attire since we haven’t seen warm weather for awhile here. I picked out this white pocket tee, a sleeveless chambray tunic ( obsessed ), and a pair of nude sandals. I can’t wait to go somewhere I don’t have to wear a jacket. What is that like again? I don’t know. Two days.

FIVE Awhile back, I went on this random spree of signing up for printed catalogues from brands I love. I totally forgot about this until they started showing up in our mailbox this month! It’s always a good idea to step away from the computer and find inspiration elsewhere, so I have a feeling many of these pages will be torn up and put on my inspiration wall. I plan on getting started on that real soon, since my office has been the last thing we put together since moving!

SIX Because I was sick last week, I ate pretty healthy during the entire week, which if you know me – is a pretty difficult task to complete. I drank 64+ ounces of water each day and even made home cooked meals most evenings. ( Can this always happen?? ) But then this past weekend came around and I crossed paths with a donut. Or two. Since I was feeling better, I indulged a little bit and enjoyed every single second of it. I’m on the donut bandwagon for life and am not sorry about it. ;)

Thank you! Glad I’m not the only one who attacked the Gap sale, ha. It was too good to pass up … I probably should have picked up more now that I think about it. DANGIT. As for the spider plant, I have no idea how it’s keeping up so well. My fiancĂ© takes care of all our plants, so maybe he’s magic?

  3. Allison says:

love the way you set up these posts!

  4. Alex says:

What catalogs did you sign up for? I’d like too know…it’s a great idea! ;)

    • breanna says:

From what I can remember : TopShop, West Elm, Madewell, J.Crew …. there must be more though that I’m forgetting. ;)

  5. I just want to sit outside for hours and hours and not feel cold for one second, even when the sun goes down. And organize diners in my garden with lots of light garlands and outside candles. And wine. Cold white wine. While i’m wearing open toe shoes. It feels like ages. I’m sooo looking forward to it. But I don’t think I can wait any longer. I need to plan a trip to the South. Like as South as possible. Haha.

    • breanna says:

Haha – AMEN to all of that. It sounds 100% wonderful. I don’t know what that feels like anymore either. :( Ugh. We’ll get there!

I also went on a catalog spree a couple weeks ago. I love getting them in the mail. Whenever I need inspiration or a change of pace I just pop them open.

  7. Kelly Brito says:

Well, let me start by saying that no normal human being can resist donuts. So you can’t be held guilt for that one. lol
Very glad to hear you’re better. Few things are worse than vacationing when you’re sick. So unfair!
And if you ever have the chance, I’d love to hear about the catalogs you’ve signed up for. I’ve signed up for some magazines and catalogs, but they have been failing in working as a proper inspiration. O.o
    Enjoy the vacation!!!! :)

    • breanna says:

What if somebody literally doesn’t like donuts? I can’t even imagine!!! The catalogues I signed up for are : TopShop, Madewell, J.Crew, West Elm … and probably a few more that I can’t remember. :/

Would you mind sharing where you purchased your dining table?
    Thanks!

    Glad that you’re feeling better.
