Little Insights | Breanna Rose

life as of late has gone a little something like this

ONE I’ve been really inspired by the blog Un-Fancy lately. This space is run + curated by Caroline Joy and goes over how to create your own capsule wardrobe, which is pretty intriguing! I’m in the middle of putting together being that my closet is still fairly empty and I’ve been struggling to put together outfits I love this summer. This blog truly helps.

TWO This is what my desk usually looks like. Well, at least in the morning that is. My little ritual is to have Special K, granola, and slices of banana with coconut milk. On this particular morning, I had a meeting via skype with Jen for the Be Free, Lance workshop. We’re making so much process ( currently working on the workshop’s website ) and I’m getting so eager to share more. ;)

THREE On the morning of July 4th, I was busy cleaning up in the kitchen, when I looked over to see Walter staring at me, just like this. I can’t get over this little guy and all his quirks. We have, however, figured out that he has a bit of fear aggression with other dogs + strangers, so we signed him up for a beginner’s obedience class this September! We’re hoping that more socialization and training will help!

I’m totally in that “clearing out the closet and simplifying things” as well. Love how her blog is set up. P.S. Walter looks adorable in that photo.

Awesome! Yeah, her blog was the one that finally got me to take that next step and think a little bit differently. I think the idea of “37 pieces” helps me narrow things down instead of get overwhelmed. :)

I am so excited to see what the Be, Freelance workshop becomes. I can’t wait until you’re ready to share more. Love seeing your little insights.

    • breanna says:

So glad to hear you’re excited! We’ll share more as soon as we can. Just gotta organize a few more things first. ;)

  3. Amanda says:

Thanks for sharing the link to Un-Fancy! I’ve been intrigued with creating a capsule wardrobe this year, and I’m really inspired by her take on the subject! Also – your pup is so precious. I have two boxers that follow me around the house constantly, staring at me with that wrinkled, worried look on their faces. :) It’s so cute / hilarious at the same time. ;)

    • breanna says:

No problem! So happy to share. I just really like the way she narrows things down and keeps it minimal, but totally approachable + attainable! And thank you about Walter. It definitely is fun to have something so cute follow you around on the daily, ha! I can imagine your boxers can make some good faces!

  5. Stacia says:

I ADORE Un-Fancy! It has been so helpful with encouraging me to curate my wardrobe instead of just impulsively buying things because I feel like I need them. Clothes are so much less stressful now!

    • breanna says:

Right!? Plus, it helps that her style is right up my alley so there are all sorts of purchasing ideas. :)

  6. Colet says:

May I just say that Walter is so adorable!

Really enjoy reading these little insights and Walter looks so adorable <3

It's a shame to hear that Walter has a little fear aggression around other dogs and strangers, but it's good to hear that you are tackling it earlier rather than later. :) We adopted a five year old Cairn Terrier about 6 months ago and he had very bad fear aggression around other dogs, that he would lose his mind and bite anything close to him, including me. He is a lot better now but still has a long way to go. Just remember, never give up!! It will take time but it's good to good to hear that you are tackling the problem now. One thing we learnt is that when two dogs have a fight/angry at each other, always try to end the meeting at a good way. Calm the dogs down and walk together (They don't have to greet) and this will create a positive experience for both dogs. We tried this with a few aggressive dogs in our area, and it's improved for both our dog and the others. Socialisation will really help and we also found Cesar Millian's tips on dogs really useful :)

    • breanna says:

Yeah, we’re going to keep trying and make sure that we stick with it! Glad to hear that you’ve made improvement with your dogs, too! :)

  9. I love UNFANCY, her style is impeccable !

    • breanna says:

It really is!! I get overwhelmed with WHAT to buy, so her blog definitely helps because I would actually buy 95% of her wardrobe as is, ha!

  10. Breanna ! I’m sorry I haven’t been checking in so much the past couple of months. New York as been absolutely insane. So many opportunities, new friends, new everything. I just needed to soak it all in and in the middle of doing it I lost track of my numerous blog reads and keeping my blog up too. I’m a disaster, haha. But, I’m going back to Paris on sunday, and hopefully will be back on a normal schedule soon, hah. I’m happy to read about your progress for the Be Free, lance. I can’t wait to see more.
