It is with great sadness that I announce the closing of Our Paper Shop at the end of June. After much discussion, Emma and I came to the bittersweet conclusion that our little shop wasn’t something that we could keep up with at this point in our lives. We’re both young and exploring our dreams, which is exactly how OPS came to be. But too much is too much. As much as we hoped that Our Paper Shop would grow into a solid stationery boutique, we couldn’t find enough time between our freelancing gigs to make it the brand we wanted it to be. It’s all about doing fewer things better.

Emma and I have many great opportunities coming up, so although one chapter is closing – many more will come. Our Paper Shop taught us how to start our own business, market, package, communicate, collaborate, and so much more that I’m extremely thankful for. It has been a dream to collaborate with someone so much like myself and I’m glad I can call Emma a lifelong friend. You can bet we have good things up our sleeves.

With that said, we are having one final sale over at our shop until the latter part of June. There are some good deals, so make sure you hit it up and take a little OPS memory with you. I know we both will.

Hey Girl, I totally understand where you are coming from. Currently I’m trying to do it all- have a little jewelry shop, blog, freelance, and also try to be an artist and paint regularly. It’s hard but I am coming to terms with the fact that right now in my life I can’t do it all, especially on my own so I am in the process of cutting some things out and deciding what I really want to focus on right now. Good luck!

  2. Jo says:

This is indeed sad news, but you are both very inspirational – in your business sense and unending creativity. A very brave decision to focus your energy into what you really need and want to do right now. And I know the feeling. Too many fingers in too many pies – I feel insane sometimes! Let’s look on the bright side though, you’ve realised where you want your energies focused and that in itself must be an awesome feeling. Onwards & upwards! :)

  3. Ana says:

I know exactly how you feel. I might find myself there very soon. I will try to give my shop one last push and if now will concentrate in all other things that I have going for me. I’m so happy I’ll be working with you soon. I wish you the best!

  4. Although I’m sad to see it end, I just know that you guys are making the right choices for yourselves! It was a wonderful shop and you should both be insanely proud!

  5. April says:

I’m sorry to hear that. It’s a beautiful shop. I just purchased a bunch of cards!

  6. Looking forward to seeing other projects from you two ladies! Y’all have created beautiful work & I don’t doubt what else is to come. Yall have given me inspiration to start my own little company.

Any recommendations or tips when wanting to start a business?

    • bre says:

Hmm … tips. Put your all into it and think about each and every details. It takes a lot of time and passion, but I’ve learned so so much from it. :)

  7. “doing fewer things better” – I can relate to that! best of luck with your new opportunities/ future projects!

  8. KAYLA BILL says:

It will be sad to see OPS go because I love looking at all the beautiful thing you ladies created. But can you please please please keep making the destop backgrounds every month!? That is what I look forward to at the begining of every month and I always use them at home and at work! :)

  9. Emily says:

I’m sorry to hear your news, but congratulations on making such a strong choice. It’s hard to make decisions like this, but I’m looking forward to see what your creative energies produce next.

    Emily x

Such sad news! :( But something has to give when work is busy, so I support your decision wholeheartedly. Hopefully you guys can re-open sometime in the future. It was great while it lasted! In the meantime, I’ll have to pick up some goodies and look forward to seeing what you’re both working on freelance!

    • bre says:

Thanks for understanding! And definitely pick up some goodies in memory of our paper shop ;) xx.

you girls are awesome – excited to see what your future holds <3

  12. Mailinh says:

As sad as this news is I completely understand the decision you two lovelies are making. Just know OPS will be greatly missed. Your guys’ work was just one of a kind and all my friends who received your card just loved ’em so much. And as a paper lover, you guys really set the bar on design and detail of a card. Thank you.

    • bre says:

Wow – thank you so much lady. I know you’ve been such a super supporter of us throughout all of this – cheers to that!! xx.

  13. Krissy says:

Big hugs to you both! It takes great courage to know when it’s time to bow out and re-focus, so good on you both. :) I managed to snatch up a few last little goodies while they were left. You & Emma did such a lovely job on everything in the shop; no matter what, you should be proud of what you created together. :)
