Wantlist : Movie Time | Curated by Breanna Rose

Yesterday, I wasn’t feeling too great – so I quit work early to get some rest and watch a whole lotta tv. Just what the doctor ordered, right?? My long afternoon on the couch ( with chips & salsa ) gave me the idea to base a curated wantlist post on a movie night in! Because let’s face it, now is the best time to watch Hocus Pocus and get all cozy indoors. You know, pop some popcorn, dim the lights, wrap yourself up in a blanket ( or five ), and perhaps drink some hard cider. Man, that’s sounding so good right now. Good thing it’s Friday! Do you guys have any favorite flicks you like to watch this time of year? I’m dying to see something new …

  1. Renée Yoxon says:

This post speaks to me on a spiritual level :)

  2. Jo says:

I love Hocus Pocus. It freaked me out as a kid, but I get nostalgic watching it now. Another good one to watch is Nightmare before Christmas. You can totally watch it now and again around Christmas.
I hope you feel better soon!

  3. Alecia says:

ha! yes to hocus pocus! is it weird that I like to watch harry potter all year long? That is a movie I like to get my comfy sweatpants on and just binge watch them all.

Have a great weekend! Hope you are feeling better.

    • breanna says:

That is 100% not weird at all. :) I like to start watching them all through at this time of year anywhere. Probably because the first few movies have Christmas looking all so cozy and I feel like I also need to be cozy to watch!!

  4. Tilly says:

This is EXACTLY what I’m going to do tonight. On these occasions, I’d recommend Whip It, Cry Baby, or if you really don’t want to go anywhere, Gone With the Wind…

  5. Brianna says:

Looks like you just made my Friday night plans! Hocus Pocus, popcorn and maybe hot spiked apple cider (since it just snowed here!)

    • breanna says:

YES DO IT. I don’t own the movie so I need to find it ( or maybe online, I bet it’s available ) … but I’m so down for movie night. xx.

  6. Jensen says:

Hocus pocus is an absolute must right now. I’ve also been trying to figure out how to watch space jam recently.

As for new movies, I watched Stoker the other day. It’s creepy and weird, but so good.

And now I need to add that mug to my collection, it’s so lovely!

    • breanna says:

Right!? I’m thinking about getting the mug, but we don’t have a ton of cupboard space in that section. Gosh! I need to clean… or just watch movies.

  7. Carina says:

Yes, yes, and yes. We’ve been having a ton of fog in the mornings (in Seattle), and aside that it’s cold and rainy most days, I’m actually secretly loving it because it perfectly sets the mood for this kind of evening. And like some of your other readers — I’m totally an HP fan! And I know it’s early, but I’m always a sucker for Love Actually around the holidays too.

    Have a fabulous weekend!

  8. Jessika says:

Breanna, you just gave me even more of a reason why you are my inspiration blogger/designer…all because you mentioned hocus locus + that is my faaaavorite Halloween movie!!!!

ohhh, pendelton blankets are just the BEST. so warm and cozy, perfect for the cold season. I really love watching Sleepy Hollow and The Nightmare Before Christmas during Halloween. Okay, Nightmare Before Christmas is kind of a Christmas movie, but it’s kind of halloween-y too, right? It’s like a hybrid of the two holidays. Coraline, as well! Not halloween themed, exactly, but still spooky vibes, black cat, witch-y type woman, you know! If you haven’t seen Coraline, highly recommended!

Hope you got some much needed R&R :)

  10. amazing. i love everything HBC – so classic and cozy!
    xx

  11. Stacia says:

Hocus Pocus is one of my favorite Halloween time movies, too! I also really like Ghostbusters.

  12. Simone says:

Nice wantlist! I like watching Adventure Time during the whole year. It’s the same with detectives!

  13. This time of year was made for cozying up on the couch! Hocus Pocus, Nightmare Before Christmas, Paranorman… I just adore the holidays and try to soak up as much of it as I can!
